Safe Transaction
Guide

Every transaction connects two real DVC members. Our platform matches you, generates a contract, and provides a private chat.

How We Verify Sellers

Before any listing appears on the DVCSafePay exchange board, we require every seller to complete identity and points verification. This means every seller you see on this platform has already provided:

Points Statement

A current available points statement from their DVC member account confirming they have the points they are listing.

Photo ID Verified

A copy of their government-issued photo ID. We verify the name on the ID matches the DVC membership on file.

Check Availability Before You Commit

If you are a DVC member looking to access a specific resort through the exchange board, we strongly recommend checking availability at that resort before accepting a seller's listing. Log into your DVC member account and confirm that your desired dates and room type are showing as available before you click Accept.

Important: Once you accept a listing and the contract is generated, both parties are committed to the terms of that agreement. Checking availability first takes a few minutes and could save both parties from a difficult situation.

Start With Our Contract

Before any money changes hands, both parties should sign the contract DVCSafePay generates at the time of your match. This contract outlines the agreed points, resort, price per point, total amount, use year, and use-by date. It is a binding agreement between you and the other party.

Do not proceed with payment until both parties have signed the contract. Keep a copy for your records.

How to Pay Safely

We strongly recommend using a credit card or PayPal Goods and Services for all transactions. Both offer built-in buyer protection.

Credit Card

Dispute a charge if the seller fails to deliver. Visa, Mastercard, and Amex all offer chargeback rights and zero liability protection.

PayPal Goods & Services

Built-in buyer protection. Open a dispute directly through PayPal if the seller does not deliver as agreed.

Never Friends & Family

PayPal F&F offers zero protection and cannot be disputed. Always use Goods & Services.

Best Practices for Both Parties

Sign the DVCSafePay contract before any payment is made
Confirm all details in writing through your chat thread on the platform
Use a payment method that offers dispute protection
Never agree to move communication or payment outside of DVCSafePay
Keep records of all messages, the signed contract, and payment confirmation

Optional: Let Us Hold Your Funds

Added peace of mind on any transaction

We want to be transparent. While we verify every seller's identity and points statement, no system is completely foolproof. If you are uncomfortable sending payment directly to a seller, we offer an optional fund-holding service for a small service fee.

1
Buyer Sends Funds

Funds go to DVCSafePay instead of directly to the seller.

2
We Hold Securely

Funds held until your check-in date is confirmed.

3
Released on Check-In

Confirm your stay and we release funds to the seller.

If the booking fails to materialize, your funds are returned to you. To use this service, select the fund-holding option when confirming your match.

A Note From DVCSafePay

DVCSafePay is a matching and communication platform. We connect members, generate contracts, and provide the tools to make transactions as smooth and safe as possible. By following these best practices, and using our optional fund-holding service if you have any doubt, both parties can transact with confidence.
